Communicate - Creating a Nap Journal

Modified on Tue, Nov 26, 2024 at 3:23 PM

This guide outlines how to create a Nap Journal in the Communicate module. The Nap journal is used regularly to record how long the child napped for.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Open the Child’s Profile

      1.  Click the Communicate icon on the left hand side to access this module.

    2.  Select the Journal tab.

    3.  Find the child you would like to add the journal to in the list on the left-hand side. You can also search by entering the
child’s name in the Search field.

    4.   Select the child’s name and click the plus (+) symbol to the right, beside the date. The plus sign appears once a child’s
          name has been selected.

IMPORTANT: You can also add all children who go down for a nap at the same time. To add multiple children at once, simply select all children napping from the left-hand side menu.

Create a Nap Journal

To start a new Nap journal:

  1.  In the dialog box, select the journal Type drop-down menu. Select Nap as the journal type.
  2. Ensure the Staff/Admin and Admin View Only boxes are de-selected. This way the journal will be visible to parents.

      3.   Enter the Time the child or children went down for their nap.

      4.   Click the Start Nap button to show when the nap began.

      5.   Click the Submit button. The Nap journal will then display in the child’s profile as having been started.

When the child or a group of children wake up, you can go back to this journal to enter when the nap ended. To do so:

      6.   Find the journal in the main Journal area.

      7.   Click the ellipsis in the top right and select Edit.

       8.   Change the time. Select the End Nap button to save the time.

      9.   Click Submit to save and publish the journal.

The journal entry now shows parents how long their child napped for.
